Enjoy a Murray River cruise like no other. This seven night Murray River cruise covers 320kms of the mighty Murray River, between Blanchetown and Murray Bridge, plus the breathtaking river lands of South Australia. Onboard P.S. Murray Princess you will experience the great variety of sights and sounds of river life from a paddle wheeler and witness the scenes of the Murray's ever-changing landscape. The cruise will visit historic Australian places, indigenous sites and follow the region’s food and wine trail, including a visit to the famous Barossa Valley and it's wineries.

P.S. Murray Princess departs Mannum on Friday & Monday at 4.30pm (self drive can board from 2.30pm or a free coach departs the Mercure Grosvenor Hotel, 125 North Terrace, Adelaide at 1.30pm).

P.S. Murray Princess returns to Mannum at 9.00am (the return free coach drops passengers at the Mercure Grosvenor Hotel at 12 noon).

The 7 night cruise is actually a combination of the 4 night and 3 night standard cruises put together.

On the Outback Heritage Murray River Cruise (4-Nights) P.S. Murray Princess will cruise North along the Murray River where you will experience spectacular scenery from towering riverside cliffs. On this river cruise you will see lots of Australian wildlife, visit a vineyard and taste some wine, take in an Australian farm stopover and visit one of Australia's most famous Aboriginal archaeological sites.

Mid way during your cruise you will arrive back at Mannum where you will join a complimentary coach tour (normally valued at $140 per person) to the famous Barossa Valley where many of Australia’s world-renowned wines come from. You’ll visit three premium wineries, have lunch and enjoy some free time in Tanunda before returning to your riverboat in preparation for the afternoon sail.

The Wetlands Discovery Murray River Cruise (3 nights) has an accent on the river lands with fascinating flora and fauna. During this cruise you will travel the backwaters of the Murray River in a smaller discovery vessel, take a guided walk and learn about the rivers food and wine trail, witness the spectacular Murray River cliffs surrounded by wildlife and visit an Aboriginal community to taste hand made chocolates using native fruits.

Friday - Late afternoon the famous Murray River paddlesteamer, P.S. Murray Princess departs historic Mannum, birthplace of the Murray River trade and communication, and heads upriver while you enjoy pre-dinner drinks and a Welcome Dinner. Sit back and enjoy your Murray River Cruise as your boat cruises under floodlight to your overnight mooring at Craignook. From the paddle steamer you may see nocturnal wildlife on the Murray River bank, watch for grey kangaroos, hair-nosed wombats, Murray River longnecked tortoises and spoon-beaked echidnas. Your resident on-board entertainer provides music for those who enjoy the times of Murray River boat cruises.

Saturday - Set foot on the banks of the Murray River Australia after a hearty breakfast for a guided nature walk to discover the local flora and fauna. Later, reboard your Murray River paddle wheeler and cruise upriver, past big river cliffs that tower 90 metres over the P.S. Murray Princess and an ever-changing countryside. At the 207km mark the paddle boat will turn and head downriver to Fromm’s Landing where you can join a discovery vessel for a Murray River backwater wildlife tour. Travelling in small, personalised groups, you can explore the maze of backwaters, creeks and lagoons. The birdlife is amazing. Watch for darters, herons and egrets feeding along the Murray River’s muddy edges. Back on board your river boat cruise, the P.S. Murray Princess will cruise downstream past picturesque cliffs to Piggy Flat. After dinner enjoy the fun and excitement of the Murray River Cup.

Sunday - Bring your camera as it's time to leave the paddle boat again and go ashore to capture the Murray River's dawn light, a special time on the river. After breakfast the boat will leave Piggy Flat for more Murray River cruising. Enjoy a morning talk about the riverland's bountiful food and wine trail from the boats expert staff. After lunch the paddle steamer will reach the Pomberuk Aboriginal Cultural Centre at Murray Bridge. The Murray River has been a source of life for indigenous people of the riverland's, including Australia’s largest aboriginal community, the Ngarrindjeri people. Come with a staff member to the information centre for a fascinating insight into these people. Here, too, is a cottage industry hand-making chocolate using native fruits. Later that day the paddle wheeler will cruise to Mundarra where you can join the Captain and officers for pre-dinner drinks followed by the Captain’s Dinner & Dance.

Monday - After breakfast, P.S. Murray Princess arrives at Mannum. Here you will join a complimentary coach tour (normally valued at $165 per person) to the famous Barossa Valley where many of Australia’s world-renowned wines come from. You’ll visit three premium wineries, have lunch and enjoy some free time in Tanunda before returning to your riverboat in preparation for the afternoon sail.

Monday - Mid-afternoon the paddle wheeler sets sail again from Mannum where you can take time to relax as the paddle boat cruises up the mighty Murray River allowing you to enjoy pre-dinner drinks. During the evening the Murray River boat will cruise under floodlight to an overnight mooring on the Murray River at Caurnamont. Keep your eyes peeled on the Murray River bank as you may see nocturnal wildlife including grey kangaroos, hair-nosed wombats, Murray River longnecked tortoises and spoon-beaked echidnas. Settle in for a night's entertainment by an on-board entertainer who will provides music for those of you who wish a late night.

Tuesday - Daybreak comes on the Murray River and time for the keen photographers to be out to capture the special light and the morning movement of wildlife. Prolific bird life can be seen from the decks of the P.S. Murray Princes and includes pelicans, blue wrens and black swans. After breakfast it's time to cruise the Murray River again, this time the paddle steamer will cruise upstream to Blanchetown, through one of 13 locks which maintain the flow of the Murray River and levels of water. Shortly the river boat will reach Salters Station for overnight anchorage. This evening, as the last rays of the sun fade, you can join one of expert guides for a tour of Burk Salter’s vineyard on the banks of the Murray River, there is even time for a little wine tasting at the cellar door. Tonight is fancy dress night on board the P.S. Murray Princess, (bring your own or hire one) as well as the boats famous Murray River musical quiz.

Wednesday - After breakfast join a guide for a walk along the eco-sensitive wetlands of Salters Station on the banks of the Murray River Australia. Back onboard the paddle steamer will cruise down the Murray River, after lunch many passengers enjoy an afternoon nap, watch the Australian landscape slide by, or enjoy a lifestyle and info-cruising presentation. During the afternoon your Murray River cruise will arrive at Sunnydale, here it's all ashore for the Woolshed Sound & Light Show that recreates typical Australian woolshed history. Later that day a visit is made to the Native Wildlife Shelter where some of South Australia’s most interesting native animals are cared for. That evening your chefs will prepare a great Aussie Barbecue – cooked and served in a bush setting on the banks of the mighty Murray River Australia. After dinner you will be treated to a nocturnal eco-tour by tractor and cart.

Thursday - After breakfast the P.S. Murray Princes slowly cruises downstream along the mighty Murray River past magnificent cliffs scoured by the Murray River over millions of years. The next stop for the paddle boat is Ngaut Ngaut Aboriginal Reserve, one of Australia’s most significant archaeological sites. Take a step back in time – tens of thousands of years – and join a knowledgeable guide for a boardwalk view of ancient rock carvings and learn about aboriginal history in the area. Back onboard the paddlesteamer the boat will cruise down the Murray River to Younghusband. Along the way, adventure seekers can also take a speed boat ride. The P.S. Murray Princess will cruise past large billabongs, open expanses of water and cliffs amazingly high. Tonight the Captain and his officers host a spectacular farewell dinner onboard the Murray Princess.

Friday - After breakfast, P.S. Murray Princess arrives at Mannum where all new friends and crew reluctantly say farewell.
